Creating Wellness for Women Through Mindfulness

A free introductory Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction class will be offered on January 9, 2014 at 7 PM in the Atrium Classroom at Cruzioworks on the corner of Cedar & Church Streets (877 Cedar Street), in downtown Santa Cruz.

 
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction for Women

The eight week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction class will run from January 16 to March 6, 2014 at 7 PM. All classes will be offered in the Atrium Classroom at Cruzioworks on the corner of Cedar & Church Streets (877 Cedar Street), in downtown Santa Cruz. The cost of the 8-week class is $325, and a few scholarships are available.

 

MBSR is an 8-week course that empowers practitioners to create more wellness and resilience in their lives. Students are guided step-by-step in mindfulness practices that help them gain greater well being and ability to work with difficulties and worries, conflicts and challenges.

 

The class meets weekly on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and includes a day-long practice in February. Students experience and learn meditation practices as well as mindful movement exercises that develop a personal practice. Students are asked to practice 30-45 minutes every day during the class to gain steadiness in mindfulness.

 

While this class is designed to support women, it is open to all.
